Visiting the Forgotten:
PVS' Social Media Campaign

During the pandemic, we have witnessed prisoners being locked up as many as 23 hours a day. There is also the sadness of knowing that many executions were carried out last year, and several were people visited by PVS volunteers. We continue to receive requests from prisoners who want to be visited, but post-pandemic, we are seeing fewer volunteers available to fill this need.

Now more than ever, it is important that we do all we can to recruit new visitors as we emerge from this virus. I hope you will be able to help with this. One way is to reach out to friends and family, or through churches or other organizations you belong to. Another is to join us in launching a social media campaign that we hope will expand the awareness of PVS, generate contacts and raise money to support the national recruitment effort.

For those of you who use social media and are willing to help,

click here to sign up to receive email updates. We will make it as easy as possible, starting with a toolkit that will provide guidance on how you can help make this important effort a success. You don’t have to be an expert in social media – any posting will make a difference!

We know that in too many federal and military prisons, many incarcerated people rarely if ever receive a visit. Let’s make sure they are not forgotten.

Let’s work together to achieve the vision in which anyone asking for a PVS visitor gets one.
